Who is Via27...
A Multi faceted faith based creative content collaboration.
Using music, spoken word, testimonials, creative writing, mindfulness tools, mini word & teaching releases, and the visual arts, our desire is to provoke a new and fresh way to dive into topics of faith and wellness. This content is intended to challenge mindsets and inspire the heart.
Our mission is to find and give a voice to the “hidden” ones within the body of Christ. The ones who embody the living word within their work spaces, their families, communities, and churches, while also carrying a true artistic gift from God that needs to be seen and/or heard. The goal is not to gain a “following”, but for the glory of Jesus- to drive this world toward Him through the message being expressed.
We believe in true discipleship and the ability to have discernment within the teachings we are given. We will strive to give resources of growth and development on the topics we release, and encourage dialogue and conversation with our team and the community that forms around these featured contents.
As we release inspired works, we desire that each person would feel the freedom to go beyond what the institutions of faith have told us about ourselves and our faith, and to discover the depths of the love Jesus holds for us and others. We desire to encounter the Presence of God in a tangible way.
At Via27 we hold a strong conviction for purity in the area of worship, and we will hold true to an “anti-celebrityism” culture. Therefore all featured artists and speakers are labeled by their initials. We limit our Video footage to stay as artistically focused as possible with limited facial performer focus.
Our goal is to see people live their lives inspired by the Holy Spirit with more intention towards connection with God, themselves, and others.
Why is Via27...
Via comes from the latin word “route or road” which means “route to a destination,” “path" or "way”. 27 stands for Psalms27. As we have prayed into Ps.27 for our personal lives God has made it clear to us that this is His prayer for His people. That we would find our route to Him and walk firmly down the road laid out to us in Psalm27.
JKG and JRG are the Co-founders and creators of Via27.
Having both been raised in the Christian faith, they have a unique understanding of religious beliefs and have a heart to see God's freedom brought back into the religious practice. Having walked out their life's journeys amongst those outside of the church who have their own unique walks of faith, lifestyle, and a refreshing desire for authenticity and connection in both spiritual and relational life.
J&J have been on the international mission field, lived overseas, co-founded a church, worked in ministry and church senior leadership for over a decade, worked in the entertainment business, created and produced within the creative arts, run a business, adopted, fostered, IVF’d. They have experienced traumas, they have failed, succeeded, questioned, laughed, and cried. The dynamic life experience that has had some wonderful highs and life shaking lows has caused them to dive deep into their faith, lifestyle values, and journey in a way that has inspired balance and passion for unity within ourselves and with those around us, with an emphasis on Christ's church.
At Via27 we believe in Jesus Christ and in the word of God. Together with other artists and creatives, we are working to create content not with the intention to persuade, but to bring balance. Thought provoking content that helps expand ideas outside of our own that builds connection with Christ, rooted in the truth that holds freedom and value, so that we have the security to become safe people that can walk out the true unity Jesus desires.
We are made up of mind, body, soul, and spirit, having been created in the image of God himself. Our creator, the one who created heaven and earth (Gen1.1), created us to be multifaceted creative beings. Therefore we are held back from full connection when we only feed our intellectual minds with understanding. In the western culture we have adopted this idea that tools of meditation are potentially “new age” or “weird” , creativity is for the “artsy”, and that if we are feeding our minds with knowledge we will be full. When in fact we are at a minimum half empty when only filling one element of our entire being.
Podcasts and teachings, though a profound tool, are not enough to facilitate and sustain a walk of true connection with God our creator, with ourselves, and with the relationships around us.
Our spirits are a desertland hungry for the stillness of mindful meditation using faith based music, sounds, and movement. It’s not until we have learned the art of stillness that we hear the “still small voice” that has the power to guide our lives with peaceful freedom.
Messages and teachings are necessary, however our soul needs music to help facilitate the parts of our mind that need to be quieted in order to connect with Holy Spirit.
Our body needs movement to release the traumas and embrace the full healing God has for us.
